Welcome to the IBO 2013 in Bern!

The Association of Swiss Scientific Olympiads and the University of Bern are happy to welcome guests from all over the world and all interested person to the 24th International Biology Olympiad 2013. During one intense week, the best young biologists will compete on a high international level.

The IBO 2013 takes place from 14 – 21 July, 2013 in Bern.

We are looking forward to a lively exchange, outstanding performances and unforgettable moments. Have fun!

About the IBO

The IBO is an international competition for high school pupils whose interest in science and biology goes way beyond the school program. The Scientific Olympiads take place every year in another country and in many different fields as for example biology, chemistry, informatics, mathematics, philosophy and physics. They do not only focus on scientific knowledge and accomplishments but also promote the dialog between cultures and countries.

Switzerland participates since 1987 in the Scientific Olympiads. From 14 - 21 July, 2013 Bern will host the first International Scientific Olympiad to take place in Switzerland. We expect about 240 highly talented participants from more than 60 countries and over 240 jury members, scholars and scientists.
